Bandhavgarh

Wilderness, Heritage & Adventure

More than a Park

Bandhavgarh is more than a national park — it is a living archive of India’s wild and cultural heritage. Set in the Vindhya Hills of Madhya Pradesh, this former royal hunting ground is now one of the country’s most iconic tiger reserves, celebrated for its biodiversity, ancient lore, and natural grandeur. The name ‘Bandhavgarh’ — meaning ‘Brother’s Fort’ — refers to the stone citadel that crowns the plateau above. Below, the forest pulses with life: sal trees, bamboo thickets, sun-dappled glades, and perennial streams create a mosaic of microhabitats teeming with species both familiar and rare

Land of the Tiger

At its heart, Bandhavgarh is known as the Land of the Tiger. With one of India’s highest tiger densities, the park offers an unparalleled opportunity to witness these regal cats in their natural domain. From legendary figures like Charger and B2 to the thriving lineages of today, Bandhavgarh’s tigers are lineage, legend, and legacy — seen often and remembered always.

In a remarkable return, wild elephants have reclaimed Bandhavgarh after more than a century. Migrating from the forests of Chhattisgarh, these herds have not only settled but flourished — raising calves, forming family groups, and restoring a lost rhythm to the jungle’s ecology. Their presence now complements that of the tiger, reshaping Bandhavgarh’s story of resurgence.
